A Shoestring Award
The Shoestring project and Shoestring Awards are to help support communities and those working with them, with tired and tested initiatives that have proven to be affordable and effective in getting more people to walk more often.
Rethinking Cities is managing the compilation of a directory of affordable and effective initiatives and would welcome suggestions. The Shoestring project was launched at the MobiliTI conference in Mendrisio, Switzerland in May.
There is a fledgling wiki as a work-in-progress as proposals of good practice are sent in - with a mechanism for you to add directly to the on-line resource. Once some momentum has been established, the intention is the launch the Shoestring Awards to draw attention to the initiative.
