Democratising urban planning
Our next Conversation will be introduced by Tom Cohen on the topic of "Democratising urban planning" and will take place at the Royal Commonwealth Society in London on Wednesday 24 February.
Tom Cohen recently started studying for a PhD on decision making in transport at University College London, having spent over a decade in consultancy before that. A particular interest is the involvement of citizens in planning and the ways practice varies depending on the task and setting.
A background paper on "Democratising urban planning" will be distributed one week prior to the conversation.
This is the second Conversation in the 2010 season brought Rethinking Cities Ltd. Last month, Tim Waterman introduced the topic of "Taste and place: re-imagining the urban fringe" - you can read the briefing paper he wrote, and those for earlier Conversations by clicking in the Talkshop page in the left hand menu.
